Abstract
This study examines the role of trust in relationship commitment, that is whether trust is more dominant as mediating variabel of information sharing variables or as a direct antecedent of relationship commitment. This research was then conducted at pharmacies in Surakarta and surrounding areas. Data collection in this study using questionnaires. The number of samples in this study is 90 respondents. The sampling technique used is convenience sampling. The test equipment used is SPSS. The results of the study showed that trust is an antecedent of relationship commitment and trust does not mediate the relationship between information sharing and relationship commitment. This study has limitations, namely observations that focus on the pharmacy objects in the city of Surakarta and its surroundings which only illustrates the phenomena that occur in the pharmacy supply chain, moreover this research only pays attention to one party in the supply chain while the relationship in the supply chain occurs with at least two parties. This makes the generalization of studies limited, and also does not adequately describe the dynamics of relationships in the pharmacy supply chain. Future research is expected to establish different, wider observational objects, and also include suppliers into the object of research.
